looking for a odd part...can't find it at the local hardware store, or the Parker hydraulics store (they said they could order one from Canada), or the Grainger catalog...

I need a small (preferably brass) adapter/reducer...

1/8NPT female end and M8x1.0 male end...

anybody have another source?

Thanks.

BSR on 29 (above the speedway) has some oddball stuff you might be able to use. Or, Lubromation in Charlotte has lots of stuff closer to your house-704 375 7704-start there first. It's off Morehead behind a building on Grandin St.

I can't find anything exactly like I want...

gonna check with a local machine shop to see if they can make one...

other option...somebody said 5/16" 24-thread is basically the same as M8x1.0...I need to go get my tap/die set to check...and with a little liquid teflon it would seal up fine...

it's gonna hold air, not liquid, so we'll see...

Greg was out pricing hardware today, and at Fastenal they have a sign that says if "we don't have it, we will make it"

I'll check with them...they just didn't have it in the catalog...

I checked the 5/16" thread...and it's pretty close for about 5-7 threads, which is about all I'd need...

the other thing I looked at was drilling out the M8 and tapping it for 1/8NPT...plenty of room to do that...EXCEPT, it's a brass insert that has the M8 threads, so I'm not sure if you could drill it out without it spinning...

FWIW...

1/16NPT is very close to M8x1.0...

since it only has to go in 6-8 threads, I'm gonna try this route:

also picked up a tube of teflon pipe sealant...to use on the whole job...

:D
