You might recognize one of the homes that is in the ocean from a recent chik flick movie - I think called Nights in Rodanthe?

check out all the pics here:

Looks like a good canidate for a few modifications! LOL!

That is the poorman's porsche coupe, that thing is junk and got what it deserves.

I think a toyota would have made it through that. :)

Toyota diesel, yes! (cue the Top Gear theme music)

Are you confusing it with the Boxster? The Cayman is not junk. What are you driving?

cayman=boxster coupe

and i drive a corolla, shits nice

Obviously you've never driven either on a track...the boxster is a nice girly car(except in "S" trim)...the Cayman gets it done.

I'm not hating , I used to rock a corolla..but it was an 86 GTS that I got in 88'. It was a badass Corolla for the day.

OK...
Turning this into a "which Porsche is better" thread.

The Cayman rocks, plus it's sexy. However,if the one above is an auto trans car, I'll be OK with it drowning.

I can't think of a bad Porsche. The Panamera is ugly, but does what it does very well.

Thats a cayman "s" too....it's a long way from a boxster

Yep. She'd GET. Now, not so much. :)

Good thing the BEACH plan offers insurance for these dumbasses that build their houses in those locations at a rate so low they could never pay back a fraction of their liabilities if a big storm hit.

The most insurance you can get on beach front property in NC is 250k. That Rodanthe house was purchased about 5 years ago for 525k an is currently listed for sale for 499k. I doubt they would get anywhere near that. The residents down there are trying to have it condemned. My father in law lives in Nags Head and was surprised at how much damage was actually done.

off the porsche topic but I used to go to all those beaches growing up as a kid and it was cool but sad now that you know eventually the sand (barrier islands) will not be the same and that lifestyle of relaxation will kind of disappear slowly....

last time I saw this first hand up on the north side of topsail island....a few years ago. they're probably gone now.

digging for pics....
here's one.

I don't know what they need to do to keep it around but IMO those islands really weren't ever meant to be built on. (even though I'd love to have a house there) Every damn storm that comes through there changes the landscape.

Haha i was messin around. my corolla is a piece of :poop: and i dont really know or give a :poop: about porsches :bounce2:

I guess ya'll have never taken a Cayman for a spin. Despite what Jeremy Clarkson says, it is badass. Not as badass as a 911 Turbo, but badass enough for me.

Now where is this? OBX?

I literally just got back from Rodanthe with work. there is still sand piled high along... about 1.5 miles of the north side of the town (where the pictures of those houses are). On NC-12 North there is still sand and standing water in the road between Rodanthe and Nags Head.
