4 hours of this leads to...

this!

My reply would be a letter stating that if my wheels had not been stolen in this wonderful neighborhood then my jeep would not have been in this condition.

damn, looks like you were just rotating your tires

It took a few months for someone to complain about the Jeep frame I had in my side yard, sitting on blocks was the dead giveaway. I got a similar letter, just moved the frame to the other side of the fence. Currently I have another Jeep frame, but instead of the side yard, I left it right in the driveway. Shhh, my Jeep doesnt have a tag either...

Tell your HOA to KYA

Psh.

Ive decided that I will never join a HOA. If I am forced to, I'll never listen to a thing those people say.

Its my damn yard, I'll do with it as I want. Unless you wanna take over the mortgage payments for me, STFU!

I am contemplating sending them an IOU for HOA fees for next year.

Ha! K d ton...you should have seen that coming!
Jeeps looking good though.

I had to visit the enforcement commitee earlier this summer for not keeping my garbage can in the garage.

This was just last Friday when I was swapping tires with uglyjeepoffroad. It sat like that for maybe 4 hours.

Big talker, when you sign the deed to the property, you agree to abide by the rules (deed restrictions). Of course the rules can change, etc. I'm not sticking up for the HOA, but the intent is to prevent the decrease in property value because someone wants to pave their front yard and paint it pink polka dots, or some ridiculous thing.
I hate HOAs, I really havent had much good dealings with them, but the wife wants to live in a "decent" neighborhood with other families for the kids to play with. It seems like every HOA has some member who gets off on a powertrip though, and decides to start walking the hood looking for "infractions".

I have been to your hood many times Joel, and you know as well as I do that your way cool(to me) jeep just dont fit in. I was looking at the pic. with both jeeps in the driveway and noticed that grass was growing over your driveway. I am suprised that noone has said anything about that. I know several folks in that hood and one of them told me that driveways and side walks needed to be ''edged'' according to the HOA. I dont know if it's true or not, but you're looking a little shaggy there!

On a side note** I am already missing the traffic circle round-a-bout thingy, what about you?

all the lots in my neighborhood finally sold, so we are working on starting to enforce the rules in my neighborhood. looks like I"ll have to start hiding all of my junk!!!

However, wonder if being on the BOD would help me out...

Im sure it would be nice to live in a neighbor hood but thank GOD I live a half mile deep in the sticks. I can pee in my front yard any time of the day.

..till they put a lien on your house, then you'll get pay more.

We had an invasion of clover and carpet weed this year. In past years I have tried to fight it but this year I didn't bother. The front looks ok though which is what I think they care more about.

I miss that damn traffic circle too even if half the people didn't know what to do with it. I miss the old off ramp on westbound 40 even more though. I look forward to them completing the bridge work but when they start on the bridges for I40 it is going to be pure hell. :(

BTW Joel, Chris's old Jeep cleans up nice. I been with that thing a few times. Works really well

It is definitely a nice Jeep. I have spent the last few days working on it. Dropped it down to RE 3.5" springs, tires that are a little more friendly to it, tightened up the steering and suspension, put exhaust on, and some other stuff. It will be leaving for Harlan in about 4 hours. :)

It is odd how many people have told me exactly this same thing in the last few years.

That is why I became the president of the first HOA I lived in for 6 years, and vice president of the next for 3 years. When you are the one that recieves the complaints and has to issue warnings I just had to look in the mirror.

My new place is worse and I have no interest in it, other than the community pool.

Just means I have to leave my junk in the street and move it every 3 days.:wheel:
