Used to race Champ Karts at Concord and Orange County n such...still have some random stuff left over (no complete karts)... interested?
Advice? You can probably race a spec class stock car for less money than being competitive in go kart racing.
But if your set on it...Spend the money and buy a chassis that actually has a chance at being competitive. Even a chassis a few years old may be old news. It's no fun paying all that money and getting passed...
really couldn't tell you yes or no on that...I just drove them...and at the time didn't really care how or why they went fast (or slow) unfortunately...back in high school...
but seriously...there are alot better seat time(fun time) per cost ratios with other types of racing. That's my 2 cents.
I just remember sitting around all day (few moments of wrenching here and there) waiting to run my 15 lap race that lasted less than 10 minutes...oh...and dropping thousands to do it...
