I am thinking about building a car sometime in the future. Do a quick search for an Ariel Atom. I want to build something similar, by that I mean a Honda engine/trans, but everything else would be different as I am not much on the looks of the Ariel.

If someone likes messingwith Bendtech or other Cad programs and want to design a sort of rear engine car that would be cool. Not looking to pay anything as I am sure it won't be exactly as you design, just looking for basic ideas that might look cool.

When i say future, I mean this project probably won't be started for more than a year at least...

Just think it would be a fun track car to take to VIR or the road course @ high rock lake (if it ever gets built).

BTW, tubing size would be 1.5"

The atom is great get ya a old spider or fiero to use the frame then carbon fiber or just tube it great idea want to do something like this myself later in life good luck and POST PICS!!!!

A picture for now would be fine. This is a long way off so use your imagination. About a 3-4" frame height would be good, basically the engine would come out of a Honda FWD and sit in the rear just like it would in a FWD car. 2 Seater, WITH a roof (not much for not having anything to protect my noggin). I am kind of thinking something like a Nascar Modified would look cool, just alot smaller.

Not looking to use any carbon fiber or anything, gotta be able to do this in the basement, also I want to start from the ground up on the frame, want it to be 100% custom.

I will see what I can come up with if I get bored one day.

But I am no chassis designer, I could put a sketch you may have in bend tech if you like, But as far as coming up with something that I have no knowledge of could be more than I am capable of.
