I'm not a fan. Don't own one but I considered buying one at one time. I picked it up, pumped it, and the fore-end pinched the *hit outta my hand. I can't remember exactly what happened but I remember thinking, that's a horrible design with a pinch point.
I owned an 870 at that time and those things are tried and true. I now own an 1100 syn. 26" and it is my dream gun, they can be had for about $400 used.
I remember the guy at bass pro said not very many people liked the 887. = harder to resell if you ever got rid of it.
As budget as it is, I keep going back to my Mossberg Maverick 88 that I picked up for about a buck forty a long time ago. Granted I have a lot of shells through it shooting skeet I just cant bring myself to spend $700 on a shotgun. I do know of a few people who have the 887 NitroMag and seem to like it. However most of them are just wow'ed by whatever cool new gun comes out.
I'm new to duck hunting and most everyone screams 870 best bang for the buck but they've had they're own share of problems.. reckon ill try it out and see what happens
