Anyone heard of Appalachian Armor?

Well, based on my search results it hasn't been discussed much.

They go wheelin' in Cullowhee all the time. I'm going to be buying their skid plates as soon as I can afford them.

I had run into that on NAXJA somewhere, but I can't find any links. Seems like a decent deal, IIRC, no one in the thread was complaining. I ended up finding a used skid for my XJ.

Any chance you have a stake in said "company" or other ties to the 3 principles?

And might really just be attempting to drum up business?

Without coming off the coin for vendor status?

Absolutely not. These guys are located in Northeast Georgia I believe.

Just asking. What's "N.Ga" from Sylva, 10-15 miles?

From the looks of the part and the price (what, <$80 w/o shipping?), I'd buy it if'n I had the need for XJ skids.

yikes! jump to conclusions.

No conclusions, just questions and a suspicion... not that he'd have been the first try! :flipoff2:

Not to sure about 5/16 thread cutting bolts, sound like you drill a slightly smaller hole then send em home through the unibody. Not much better than a sheet metal screw. Otherwise they look good.

I'm not too sure but I think that writeup was from a customer.

Caver Dave - I'm not associated with these guys at all. Saw a link to their site on an XJ forum and checked them out. I just thought that what these guys are doing is cool.
