anyone heard of/experienced "ethos" additive?

Hmmm.. I'm sold. I take it there website is the only place that sells it right now?

Also I read a lot of comments on web forums about this stuff and people are saying it does nothing but clean your old system and bring it back to factory specs. However it looks like it was testing on a van at 15K miles, and worked, so that's pretty new. Some people say that fuel injector cleaner will do the same thing. What do you guys think?

well the email that was sent to me by my manager was actually an oppurtunity to become a vendor of the stuff...so i'm sure you could do that and then the website isn't the only place you can get it!:) not so sure i have the time or energy to put into that, i mainly was just curious about the product.

Yeah I saw a bunch of thread on web forums about that too. People saying it's a lot like like the pyramid sales stuff. I don't care to sell the stuff, I just wanna know if it works.

Well I went ahead and bought a pint. So I'll let you guys know how it works once it gets here.

It's like that PCV thing that Rich was looking at a while back... lots of big claims up front, commission an independent lab to evaluate it, and find out that it doesn't do anything at all.... or certainly nothing that justifies the expense.

Yeah the website claims did do it for me at all. It was this video that tweaked my curiosity about the product.

But did they let the car warm up to operating temp before the initial test?
That would change the results wouldn't it?
And the professor never said anything about using it, maybe we need a student to do a laboratory research test.

funny I went to website today reading some more and now you can not buy product direct from them you have to join some MLM like "amway".. just tells me that the product does not work...

Interesting! That must have been a very recent change. The online store actually existed when I ordered mine. Does make ya say Hmmm.

OK, it's taken me a while to drive two tanks full, but here's my preliminary data taken from 2 tanks of gas.

Vehicle Without Ethos FR

Odo Stop: 115859
Odo Start: 115635
Miles: 224
Price: 2.759
Gal/Pumped: 15.331
MPG: 14.61091905

Vehicle With Ethos FR

Odo Stop: 116065
Odo Start: 115859
Miles: 206
Price: 2.659
Gal/Pumped: 14.559
MPG: 14.14932344

I'm going to continue testing with about 3 more tanks of gas rotating from with to without for more results. But so far, this stuff is a crock of crap.

i found that putting in a few oz of aceitone helped my car out a bit. There was a big thread on pbb about running it, so i gave it a try. My car got a regular 28mpg and by running it in several tanks full my mpg is up to 31 regularly. With mine i atribute it to it cleaning out the injectors and fuel system more than anything. But on bigger engines i could see it giveing noticable gains. Plus i used the ace in the garage for cleaning/degreasing parts etc.. :) ymmv

Is that the one that the Texas DA shut down a couple of weeks ago?

John, your mileage SUCKS!
