Jobs are not that hard to come by, I see places hiring all the time. It just might not be the job you want or the pay you want. However, flipping burgers is better then nothing at all.
I moved up here with a bar tending background.
Never installed Satellite but accepted a job doing that.
The field of Satellites I am in dropped drastically.
I then called a guy looking for an experienced security system installer. Told him I had no experience in that field but but let him know what I did have experience in and how it related to the job. I also told him that I could learn fast and offered to work for free for a week to prove myself. He then hired me with pay.
Basically, don't limit yourself, be open, be confident.
How many guys do you think actually offered to work for free for week? I would bet none. Most people think they are worth more then they are and would rather stay unemployed for a year then work one week for free and make $25 an hour after that (which is about what I will make).
