Hey, just seeing if anyone here was into airsoft. (with training weapons, not the BS that wal-mart sells.) I'm on a team called the North Carolina Airsoft Coalition. We try to get together twice a month to train, practice or play. So, give me a shout if anyone is interested. We have a myspace.. www.myspace.com/ncacairsoft.

me and my neighbor shoot the shit out of eachother everytime we stumble from our cabs drunk at 2:30 in the morning. we used to use paintballs but neighbors got pissed when they had neon paint on their cars.

lmao...the one i use shoot about 425fps...even drunk, that might hurt a lil at close range. I usually switch to the pistol within 15ft or so.

Our main field was in Taylorsville, NC but we had some problems with other teams there. We are more into the MILSIM and training, not so much the spray and pray tag games. We may start playing in SC with some mature teams down there soon. If you are interested go to our myspace page, there is an address on there for our team forum. You can introduce yourself there and find out where we are playing next.

425fps might ouch a lil tot he bare flesh from across the street... perhaps we'll stick to the crap guns for our escapades!

We shoot the hell out of each other at work, i think we break more of those damn things than we sell

The ones we use are usually full metal body, exact size and weight of the real weapons, very durable. Mine is even outfitted with laser sights and a scope. I can easily hit someone at 100 yds. But, I have around $800ish in it.

seems like a good place to ask.

I used to dol the paint ball thing in college, it was fun but never got crazy with it.

WIth airsoft how do you vefy a hit?
Seems like it would be easy in a wargame to say nope, missed...

Well according to my wife you know when you get shot with one. She had a helluva welt on her ass where I shot her. Wow, was she pissed!

yea they sting like a bitch. I got hit in the face with one, right above my mouth..

BUT he also shot me like 5 other times in the back, and I had on a heavy military issue jacket, and barley felt em

The main difference between the way we play airsoft and paintball is the maturity level and realism involved. The majority of my team is military and/or law enforcement. We mainly run military based scenarios and throw things in to make them more lifelike such as role players, vehicles, armor(hehe) and other things. There is a problem sometimes with immature people not wanting to call their hit even when you and them both know they have been hit. Everyone deals with it differently. We prefer switching to full auto, charging them, and putting as many rounds into their face as possible... Here's a pic of a poor kid who asked for such a smiting...

Now, I say kid but he's actually in his 20s and should have known better than to not call a hit and then shoot one of my teammates in the head from 10ft away with a sniper classified weapon (shooting about 550fps) usually those weapons have a minimum engagement of 100ft but that is a whole issue in itself.

Here's a pic of my rifle which is a G&G GR16R5..Basically an M16A4 replica. It has a fully metal body, exact size and looks exactly like the real ones. This one is even the same weight. Also a pic of me in my gear loadout against a matching backdrop, you may have seen this camo if you play Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter...
