CATCH*** That reserve rooms to to 18+ year olds?

Preferrably something down around the Airport area..not up in North Myrtle..

This is proving to be WAY difficult to find rooms that reserve to anyone under 25-23-or 21 (which IMO is stupid..I can go get my limbs blown off in Iraq, but I cant rent a freaking hotel room? On top of that..how many people do YOU know who have been married well before they reached their 25th birthday..and you mean to tell me THEY couldnt even rent a hotel room for a honeymoon?!)

anyways, any help would be appreciated, Ive been looking at this stuff for well over 4 hours now :shaking:

Get someone to reserve it for you?

Or, show a military ID and use that exact "Oh, so I can go die to keep your doors open, but I can't rent a room?" line. Never failed for me renting a hotel room, car, etc.

1) There are no good HOTELS in Myrtle, Period.
End of story.
I own a house in Cherry Grove(North Myrtle), and trust me the hole area is becoming an armpit.

2) I personally understand the business decision. ON AVERAGE the younger the tenant the more likely they are going down to party, drink and raise hell. This causes a number of problems for the owner. Namely, intoxicated folks are more prone to breaking crap senslessly, and making too much noise. In turn they can then be forced to refund 4-5 rooms money after their stay is ruined by some loud party crowd. Finally the lawsuit 3 years ago where the 19 year old died of Alcohol poisoning in his hotel room, and the hotel owner was found responsible to the tune of 2.9 million dollars for not protecting underage johnny from thee evils of alcohol , will make it damn near impossible for anyone to bend the rules.

All that said. Look for non-chain places. Mom and Pop are more likely to bend the rules than Hilton corporate.

But like Rich said I would just have your folks call and reserve the room or whatnot, shoudlnt be too hard to overcome.

1) Not at all true. There are few hotels left in Myrtle but there are many corporate one remaining that are nice. Most of what is down here now is condos that rent out as hotels and there are many new ones as well as some older ones that have gone through complete refurbishment in the past couple of years.

2) Not sure what you are looking for, but I know most do not rent to you under 25 for insurance purposes. Bermuda Sands in Myrtle which is in the lower avenues of Ocean Boulevard, and therefore close enough to the airport yet on the oceanfront is one that my freinds and I rented to party at between 18 and 21. Management may have changed but its worth a shot. At the time it was older but not in bad condition and the units we rented were suites with multiple rooms, full kitchen, ocean front, and had a fireplace.

I do remember a couple off the ocean that we rented when younger that are corporate if you are looking there.

Sun Cruz on ocean blvd rents to near bout anyone, but i dont promise its a high class place.... If you want to go to NMB I know Beach Cove will rent to someone that age (I use to stay there all the time) and also the Holiday Inn in Little River is very cheap, and will rent to anyone, and its a nice place.. I keep my boat right out back from that place.. its right on Conquita Harbor.

Beach Cove is 25 now, not to mention pretty expensive...

same with Bermuda Sands...25 to rent.

The problem is, getting a parent to reserve the room wont help. We need to present the credit card used to reserve the room, along with proper id to back it up :-/

We found one called Court Capri, but for the size of the rooms, its a tad expensive but we probably will have to deal with it at this point.

You have an address on the Court Capri? I haven't heard of it before (which worries me) and I spend my time in and out of condos all up and down the beach for a living. I would think I would have seen this place before.

2610 N. Ocean Blvd., Myrtle Beach, SC

Its about a half mile from the end of the farthest hotels towards North Myrtle..

I want to try and find something closer to the strip and Pavilion and stuff. The 3 Atlantic Resorts (Alantica 1 and 2, and the Poindexter) reserve rooms to people under 21 with a 200 dollar deposit, but the price of the stay is a tad on the expensive side for a 2 double bed room (i was finding rooms for as low as 700 for 6 days with the full 2 beds and a pullout, which is what I really want)

At this point, I will take anything, im just getting tired of searching

2610 is actually right at the top end of the most buildup section of downtown Myrtle Beach. its before you get to the Residential section. I wouldn't get anycloser to the exPavilion area (10th Avenue North) than that. but lower than 3rd Avenue South gets a little nicer again.

The Atlantica towers are mostly 2 -4 years old, but there is a portion of one of the towers that is pretty nasty.

Oh and you do realize the Pavilion is just a pile of rubble now right?

The Capri a two part hotel according to tax records and is a small Hotel ACROSS the street from the Ocean built in 1973 or the Ocean FRONT buidling built in 1986. Make sure you know what you are renting as I have a freind with some experience with Ocean front Hotels advertising ocean front, but the room being across the street. And since this one has two buildings at least, I'd be really worried.

But two VERY Nice hotels are located bordering this place on the north side. One being the Patricia Grand which was just remodeled and the Breakers (huge new building) and Breaker Boutique (refurbished building).

On the south side is a couple of older hotels. The newest being the Sea Dip (I beleive about the same age as the poindexter) and then the Atlantica hotel.

Due to development, the nicer areas are moveing north of and south of the Pavilion area with the Pavilion area development in limbo waiting on Burroughs and Chapin to come up with a plan to develop the property. Pretty much the same with the former Myrtle Square mall site.

Yeah its all a mess down that way.. and it was really a mess this last weekend.. and we know what went on right aggressive?? lol... anyways u need to come north... and the Little River holiday inn is just on the edge of NMB and its cheap and will rent to you without a deposit.. and depending on how many u have going, they have 2 room suites

tried ocean reef?

We are doing something called Golden Villa...sounds crap to me, but at this point I dont care.

I stayed at the patricia grand before the remodel, and i remember how goofy it was then (it was PINK!)

Yeah, last weekend was nasty.

Just ask if you have anymore questions. I don't have anymore info to offer on people that rent to under 25 and there are way too many places to suggest anything you may not have tried, but if you have any questions about ANY place, my office is 2 minutes from the Capri so I can find out as much as possible for you.

Good luck!

Don't know about now, but the Budget Inn near the Convention Center (?) rented to a buddy and me when we were 18. Not the greatest hotel ever (actually pretty bad). But for $50/night and a $50 security deposit (because we were underage) it was pretty dang good for being beachside.
