Ok so I am looking to buy a used hot tub. The person wants me to come and get it and unhook it and all that jazz, but the question is, how will I move it? i have an 18' or 16' truck available (no lift gate-open cab). I can get a dingo with forks but I dont think it will lift it. It can weigh anywhere from 600-800 lbs from what I researched. Any ideas? Anyone know any inexpensive bobcat rental places or have a forklift I can use (5+ experience in forklifts & cats).

I am just trying to figure out the best possible way to do this, any help would be great. thanks!~

4 guys moved my dads we picked it up over a chain link fence and set it on the bed of my nissan.

We moved mine also with 4 guys, and we went 20 steps up on to my deck. We obviously picked it up off of the wood frame and disconnected the pump and heater. The plumbing seem to be fragile on mine so be careful disconnecting and transporting.

I moved mine with my 4x4 toter... or trailer. It is low to the ground and does not require much lifting. Depending on the model, 4 guys can certainly move one. But they are heavy. Make sure the bottom of the tub is wood. Mine was. I put 2x4's on the deck the tub was sitting on to the trailer. From there, I used a come-a-long and slid it up the 2x4's. Reverse to unload it. My was an easy move though. Straight off the deck and straight on the deck... Good luck.

Ok How bout one this size? I dont have the measurements. Whatcha think? So the tub will detach from the frame for easiest mobility?

when they delivered mine, they flipped it on its side and slid it on a piece of burlap to the back of the house. we did take out a small section of screened in porch to get in in there though. i would not like to be you lifting that thing.

My hot tub is just sitting on the wooden frame, you can pick it straight up off of it, after you disconnect the pump and heater. I think you will be fine just go over ther and pick it up.

Make sure you keep the water to the right lvl, I burnt up a heater element b/c of the water going to low in the tub. When you first fill the tub with water I would make sure all of the fittings are not leaking, and then let it run without the heater for a hour probably to make sure there is no air in the system to burn up the heater element. I am definitely no expert, this advice only comes from my experience with my tub.

I use to have one like that one. I would not recommend taking it apart. Just unplug it. You and 4 to 6 guys should be able to pick it up. If u try to take it apart you will probably cause it to leak.

Four guys can carry it easily. If you can rig up a dolly to sit it on, that would be ideal. Just be careful with the skirt. They're flimsy as hell. It looks like the one in the photo is already coming apart a bit here and there.

Yea it is falling apart somewhat. It has a small crack in the bottom. It will hold water but not for a few days so that will need to be patched. We still need to build a platform as well to put it on.

Thanks for the advise on the heating element, yea i know they can be tempermental. So i guess i will just tape all wiring to the tub when i take off the outer skirts and make sure the pump and everything is secure. I think i am getting it this weekend so I will take pictures of our cluster f*ck if we drop it. thanks yall!
