Saw it at LKQ in Raleigh (70E towards Clayton). It's under a J10, Driver's drop, seems complete save for someone decided to start taking the passenger lockout apart (but didn't finish and left all the pieces on the front seat).

Might be a good start for a project, I'm sure you could get it pretty cheap. Have the fun of pulling it yourself!

There were a couple Waggy DDs as well but they were Vacuum Disco's.

what kind of condition was that J10 in?

hey man,
what kind of shape was that truck in?

Largely complete, some rust. To tell you the truth I didn't take too much time to go over the whole truck, I saw it had the entire drivetrain under it and moved on. It had a decent outer grille on it, I remember that, also the bed has a cap on it so it's possible it may not be in too bad a shape either.

If you go to LKQ you can't miss it, walk into the yard, AMC/Chrysler stuff is on your left. It's on one of the first rows about halfway across.

If you want to see it you better get right down there though, they rotate their inventory out quite often. I'd say that in the last week and a half since I was there they rotated about 20% of their inventory out. The J10 was there last time so it might not be too much longer.

I wonder if they are open on Sundays?

You know what else I saw, IH lovers will dig this, a Right-Hand drive '79 Scout II. It's yellow and mixed in with the GMs on the far right side for some reason. The top is shot, the body isn't too bad, complete drivetrain underneath it. The interior is largely stripped.

Absolutely strange to see a right-hander though...

Maybe I should make LKQ part of my regular beat, I can post up on "current finds" on a thread here.

When did LKQ open up to the public??? The last time I dealt with them, they only wanted to sell on ebay or to body shops...

They always have been, you just had to go in person and deal with the counter dick.

But yeah, the main focus was Egay and business

Had a friend who worked there for a short time, it's all about the cash, get as much as you possibly can, only back off if they sqeal loudly. Pay based souly on "production" (sales) and the goal was just out of reach of anyone who didn't have a WELL established clientel. Said the pressure was crazy stupid, and they would listen in on your sales calls and critiqe afterward.

Funny, he had done the same sort of job for years, and this was the most stressed I had ever seen him.

LKQ will see none of my $$$

thanks for the heads up...I've got a place with some good FSJ parts:driver:

I got a wide track J-10 drivers drop D44 too that i might be gettin rid of here in a few weeks if i can find me a 60. Im in the process of cleaning it up for rebuild, so its torn down but its a complete axle. It might be for sale soon if someone needs one.
