Anyone running the cooper discoverer sst's? I saw them on a pathfinder yesturday and they looked good. How do they sound on the road? And about how many miles can u get out them?

I can't answer either of those questions, but i agree they do look damn good. I read an article in a land rover magazine that they have a good grip on wet rocks.

I have run two sets of them. The first was a set of 35s on a Ram 1500 and they were awesome. The other set I had on my Ram 2500 and ran them for about 10,000 and didnt even dent the tread life. They arent loud at all and have great traction, note my uses were in mud and sand. They grip the hell out of mud. They are cheap (compared to other off road tires) and they perform great.

I AM RUNNING A SET OF 33'S NOW. I ONLY HAVE ABOUT A THOUSAND MILES ON THEM BUT, SO FAR THEY DON'T MAKE ALOT OF NOISE, AND HAVE GOOD TRACTION OFF ROAD. THEY ARE ALSO SUPPOSED TO HAVE A VERY TOUGH SIDE WALL TO PROTECT AGAINST GETTING PUNCTURED OFF ROAD.

Well when i get my new 4x4. It's probably gonna be like 05-06 model so it wont see any offroad. I want a set thats gets traction in snow. If it snows i still have to go to work. Plus I want a tire that roars. I love the way a swamper sounds. Whats the difference in the cooper stt's and sst's? I saw the stt's not the sst's on that pathfinder

Discoverer SSt

They are a great all around tire. They do pretty good offroad and have amazing road manners and great tread life for a semi aggressive tire. I don't see there being any problem with snow. I have 33's on my 77 power wagon. They do quite well in the mud, but they don't match up to the more aggressive swampers and boggers.

I have been looking for some 35x12.50 coopers, my neighbor has 33" Coopers but he doesnt remember where he got em :(

I ran cooper STT for about a year and half.
Got them used.

They wore great and had good grip until the very end.
I wasn't scared about the sidewalls. Ran them down to 12 psi and as high as 18 on the trails. But I had them on a 7" rim. (not the best for a 12.50 but they never came off)

I do have one 32x12.50x15 left. Brand new it is my spare. PM me if anyone wants it.
old style mud tire pattern - they now have a newer pattern for the STT that looks like an MTR pattern.

all thumbs up here - and turtle (doug) can say the same too.
he loves those STT's.
BUT the old style works better grooved in his opinion.
I didn't care either way.

after looking around at trucks. The 05-06 f150's come with 17" rims. I looked at the site and i cant find one in a 17" rim. So what other m/t, a/t tires come in 17's?

not to hi-jack, but i too have been looking hard at these. I need a new set of 35's. Has anyone ever cut a side wall? I know a few have mentioned sidewall strength, but I am still a little skeptical. If some one had some facts or real world experience to tell me they had just as tough a sidewall as a BFG KM MT then I'd have me set soon.
