I'm considering picking up the new 255/80/17 BFG KM2's when they're available (sometime soon) to run on my Dodge... I was just curious if anyone actually had them or was running the Load E KM2s on a heavy truck... What road characteristics, mileage, issues are you having?

I haven't ran the KM2s but I wouldn't figure they would be much different in this aspect than the old KMs. I had 285/75/16 BFG MT KM load range D on my 2001 2500HD 6.0.

They had about 45,000 miles on them when I took them off, with 2 tires right at the wear bars in the center, and 2 that were about 1/8th above the wear bars in the center. All 4 had about 1/4" tread at the outer tread.

I was happy with their mileage, they had great characteristics on the road, not loud at all, great in the rain, not so good in the ice, but the next set I have will definitely be sipped.

I kept them at a lower pressure about 40psi during normal driving for a better ride, and to reduce tread crowning since they were a wider tire mounted on narrow 6.5" wheels (not an issue with your 255s), and aired them up to around 60 when pulling a load. I pulled a gooseneck, car hauler, and even a 38ft 5th wheel through the mountains a few times with them with no issues, your E's should be great.

I know Sam (farmboy) ran or may still be running KM2s on his Cummins dually. Maybe pm him to see how they have been.

Yep, Farmboy and Firetoy have ran them on their CTD3500's. Sams are bald as hell:flipoff2: and Tim took his off early for some BFG AT's.

Sam's running 19.5s now. I'll send him over here though...I think he got around 25xxxx out of them. Went to Hammers and back, and hot lapped Boone a time or two. They looked good though.
