Anyone see the trashed XJ?

me and some buddys went down to URE/Badin lake over the weekend, some friends went down on friday wheeling and camped out. my buddy Scooter ripped his T-case almost all the way out of his ZJ! anyway, i came down saturday round 12ish and soon as i came around the corner past the Hunt Camp there sat a totaly trashed white XJ. had the keys in it, wheel broke off, and not one window left in it. Scooter said he heard them guys raising hell on the CB all night saying they just came down to trash it.
i was wondering if anyone knows anymore details about this and if its still there, obviously the people dont want it anymore so if its still there id like to get it for parts and to get it off the road.
anyone know anything about it, or what happend? i think its really irresponsible to trash it and leave it like that.
 
was there a bumper sticker that said "xjsaretheway"?
 
not that i seen. this thing was bone stock and had been plowed into a tree. im sure the radiator was done for. i think it was about a 95 model
 
it was there all weekend did yall have a guy ridin with you in a stock tj he hook up with our group because someone he was with trashed his t-case. The xj was there when i left sunday afternoon the hood wouldnt open and at least one leaf was gone when i left (some guy at the outpost had pulld it to replace his broke one). From what that guy said it was just goin to sit there till someone got it out of there:shaking:
 
im not sure, i didnt go down till saturday and i hit the lake. but my buddy has a 94 ZJ on 33's and he ripped the crossmember out and the T-case fell down to the ground! lol. i helped him load it up saturday evening. we drove it out real careful with a ratchet strap holding up the T-case. when i left sunday i noticed there was a lot less jeep there than when i pulled in saturday. id like to go get it and scrap it after i pulled what i needed. i had heard the same thing at the outpost. hell by now there probably aint nothing left of it.
 
Seems like every year one vehicle gets trashed at URE. I remember one year it was a Wagoneer at the bottom of Dutch John.

Yea I was just down there and it was a mess. Leaking fluids into the runoff ditch, glass all around it. The whole front end was caved in, I couldnt even get the hood to open. Missing two wheels and it was held in the air by the gas tank! Definitely needs to be towed out, and those who did it should be fined

that is just fucked up that some a**holes would do that :shaking:

they should be slammed into a tree, we dont need this crap, specially with the fluids leaking now. I am surprised the Forest rangers havent seen it and gotten it out of there. Anyone have their number they should give them a call. Hope they catch the pricks :flipoff2:

yeah thats the last thing we need with all the people trying to shut our parks down, then they go and do this. i myself think it would be fun as hell to get some cheap 4x4 and go raise hell and trash it but there is no way id leave it there like that, thats messed up.
 
Well hopefully someone can get it out of there, I am heading down in August, so I will see if its still there
 
im sure the FS will have stepped in if its still there by this weekend.
 
haha thats great, i heard someone took the leaf spring out of it! what luck for that guy. i woulda done the same. when i came in it still had all the tires on it saturday around 12. when i left sunday aroun 8am it was just like the pics show in that link. i imagine its way worse if not gone by now.
 
It's gone. i was up there monday, and drove right past that spot. Nothing there!
 
I love how just shortly after I posted that link here multiple Nc4x4 members were in the thread. RenegadeT, Bruiser, and burrells, who joined just for this reason. Awesome stuff guys.
