A group of us will be riding callalantee once again. it will be rockgardens all day long i guess.

How are the trails coming along up there? I've noticed you guys have been wheeling there quite a bit since we saw you up there in early July. Although the map was bad, i do have to admit that I had a good time on the waterfall and in the rockgarden. If it wasn't 4.5 hours away, I'd probably go again.

see you there joel!!! we usually roll into the lot about 9:30 or so. we are doing all three rockgardens if u know where they are. one is secret that only AORC knows about!!!!!! (it might be illegal shhhhhhh)

hey rockzuk. u should def come back. them map gets better everytime with lomodyj and there will be more numbered points on the trails one day. that rockgarden we sent u all to last time. ate my jeep alive! got half way up to that optional exit and i lost my front driveshaft, a rear axle shaft and my winch exploded tryin to pull my dead ass out!!!!

I haven't been up there since Crackers Neck closed so we will see if I can still find my way around the place.

Better download/print a color copy of the map Galen & Alan have put together... while there are more trails there than on the map, it will keep you from riding around crap trails all day looking for the good stuff!

I am going back up the 23rd - 27th of August. Adding more trails to the map.
I want to get Grey and Tan finished. CNC 4X4 will be there the 25-27 and then I am going back up with Carolina Jeepsters Sept 1-4.
There is a pretty good Rock Garden right next to Little Tellico near where Orange and the Black Loop come together. You can break something there without a problem. What was the Black Horseshoe is now a ton of steep hill climbs coming up to the Black Horseshoe..they can get pretty steep in places. Yellow is very steep going down toward Green...RQ went down it ONCE...LOL..
You can spend all day playing on the rocks and the steep hills around the Black Horseshoe...there is even a pretty good hill that takes you from Black up to Skyline.
There are a ton of rocks to play on where the tower used to be.
Welder is good and as long as you take a right from Welder on to Blue you won't get cut off by the barbed wire.
If you want just an easy sightseeing ride take Green to Orange to Brown to Skyline to Red...that is about a 4 hour loop that is not to difficult at all.
Something for everyone.

Already did. That was why I liked Crackers Neck better, it was difficult to get lost out there. At Callalantee getting lost is just one wrong turn away...

getting lost is fun, thats how we found the new ultra secret rockgarden. if you are coming you can ride in our group. all we are doing is the good stuff.

AWA did you ever get coordinates for the two new rockgardens that CTB cleared before the SFWDA ride>? if not ill give em to you or lomodyj after out ride

The only rock gardens I have marked are the one next to Little Tellico and the old Tower Site. If there are more shoot me the locations and I will get them on the map.

Thanks

What time will you guys be there on Saturday?

We are meeting in Damascus at 9am at the Food City, if you are coming from the Virginia side (I-81). Like 4x4Fever said- we should be in camp around 9:30 to unload and get on the trails. There are a few comiong from the TN/NC side who are meeting us there as well.

We are still working out the details of when we will be up there and will probably camp at Valle Crucis. The chickens didn't do it for me last time we camped up there. ;)

Sounds like fun!!! We may try to get back up there again sometime....it is a long drive for only a few good trails. I used to run a full sized bronco and got tired of breaking it all the time, hence the samurai......now I break it all the time.:shaking:

ok that makes 6 from AORC plus 3dcrawler and maybe one more. good group goin. smallest tires size in the group should be 36's and we are doin the Little Tellico rockgarden and probabluy some more gardens. fun fun

Make sure to take some good pics to post up after the weekend. Suppose to rain here all day tomorrow....hope the weather is better up there. The rockgarden wet should be interesting.

John and I were talking about trying to make it up. If he doesn't break his junk in Harlan, and I get my carb working better, you may see us there :).
