I have an ARB locker in the front axle of my TJ. When I turn on the compressor to charge the system it will cut off when the pressure reaches the preset limit. (like it's supposed to) When I activate the locker itself, the compressor comes back on and stays on. My question is, should it cut back off when there is correct pressure in the locker itself, or do I have a leak in the locker which is not allowing the correct pressure to be reached?

Well...I got my question answered when I called ARB. It appears that I have an air leak. It would be nice to find it's in the line, but I know my luck. Looks like I'll be tearing my 3rd apart. Oh well. I guess this way I'll learn all about air lockers.

Hopefully you got the line to close to something hot. If not it could be the copper line inside the diff. If not then it is probably the seals inside the locker. Not sure how old it is, but they designed a new style that supposed to last a lot longer.

you can unhook the line at the diff and plug it, then flip the locker switch. if the compressor continues to run you know the leak is in the line. if it dosent its inside the diff. we can supply you with any parts you need to fix the locker as we are a direct distributor for ARB USA

It's either the copper line or the seals. I turned on the locker yesterday and I can hear air escaping from the diff. vent hose. Oh well....hopefully it's the copper line. That would be a nice and easy fix. It's an RD104 locker. Does this model tend to give problems? I'm still new to the sport.

If the copper line is cracked or broke you will have to pull the carrier to replace it along with the retainer it is soldered to. You should get a new seals with it if you have to replace. I have spliced the copper line in a pinch, but with the metric sizing it is not easy. I have also heard of folks enlarging the hole and soldering in a standard size copper tube as well. Good luck
