If the copper line is cracked or broke you will have to pull the carrier to replace it along with the retainer it is soldered to. You should get a new seals with it if you have to replace. I have spliced the copper line in a pinch, but with the metric sizing it is not easy. I have also heard of folks enlarging the hole and soldering in a standard size copper tube as well. Good luck
