My 20 year old son has moved back from AZ to NC. He is currently driving my 1992 Chevy S10 ( Steph named it Christine )with 700k miles. He also borrowed my John Deere 242 to earn some money with till he can find a job.
Last week he called me and said he ran a stop sign and got a ticket. Ok. No big deal.
Then he hit a "small" piece of metal with the JD.
Accidents happen. $45 later and it had new blades.
I had a doc appt Wednesday morning, nerve problems in my hands. Can barely feel them.
Then I left the docs office and got a call from Jared and Sam( his 20 year old cousin) , who had done something stupid. They got Christine stuck in Shelby. Not only did they get Christine stuck, but they got her stuck with my 242 on the back, and the left it sitting there all night and most of yesterday before they told me.
For some reason they thought taking a lowered S10 down an unused rail road track, was smart, since they had done it before in a lifted 4wd S10 before.
SO we got the Suburban hooked to the big trailer and loaded the Ford 1720 up.
We go there and were unable to lift the back up the truck high enough due to lack of weight on the back of Gertie. I sent Steph, Sam, and the 1720 back to the truck for the winch, chain, and snatchblock. With that all hooked up, and Christine jacked up a little bit, I slid the rear end over.
Then Sam got on the 242, I got on the1720 ,Steph, Jared, and Heath got in Christine.
And it started to rain.
Then it got windy.
Then the wind got insane.
Then my hat blew off.
Way off.
Then it started to hail.
Sam and I ran for his van. Steph got Christine hung up again.
After the monsoon passed we found my hat (full of water)and I used the 1720 to drag Christine the last 300 yards of so.
And, yes, they are still breathing.
For now.
