auto locking hub

i just pulled the front wheels off my 94 explorer and the hubs came apart is this normal?

Also get manual versions (hubs) as fast as you can, I've broke those on every Ford I've owned. Warn made the hubs I switched to, One B2, one Ranger, and one Powersmoke. All came with the plastic graphite looking hub parts.

x2 on replacing these with manual locking hubs. i broke the auto hubs on my stock explorer and repleced them with the warn locking hubs. You can get these at advance auto for under $300. Well worth the money.
