I've been a long time 70's Ford fan. Most think I'm joking when I say I started reading Ford literature when most guys my age started swiping their dad's playboys. I've been collecting for about 5 years now, anything from dealer only literature, to brochures, to posters, etc etc. Currently working with Kevin Marti (Of Marti Auto Works) to secure the appropriate Ford licensing to reproduce some/all of these items, because you just don't see them. I should probably start going to meetings, have about 10,000 pages worth of info per year 73-91, and actively expanding the 57-66 and 92-96/7 collections. This is pretty much what kept me sane while traveling and away from my rigs the last 2 years.

and with all of those manuals, you still cant figure out simple parts interchange between those suckers. Those 1/2 year changes just killed them when it comes to motor swaps.

There are a few Master Parts Catalogs as well as Obsolete, Superseding & Interchange catalogs in there too that outlines that...but you're right, the general public would have no idea. But those still wouldn't cover what passenger side exhaust mani you need for 460 swap in a 4x4...or what pilot bearing you need for a 4spd swap, etc etc. And good god, I'm pretty sure they used a different 9" width for every single vehicle ever produced.

balancer/Flywheels/flex plates are where ford pisses me off.

There is a 2 year run ...maybe 1970 and 1971 where a 351W was Externally balances and a 302 was internally and the next year they flip flopped.
They also changed the harmonic balancer/crank pulley mounting bolt pattern in there as well.

My mind is foggy on the details, but you can actually end up with a reman engine that cant be balanced if they mix up the cranks between years.

And heaven help me when I did the 69 351W build...it used 3 bolt harmonic balancer. The only 351W to use a 3 bolt instead of a 4 bolt. The 302s of the era used a 3 bolt and were balanced 180 offf. However the 69W balancer had a lip built into it where the crank pulley slipped over where as the 302s didnt have this lip and the pulley had a lip that slipped into the recess on the balancer. At the time no one reproduced these parts. Now they do. I remember digging through pulleys and balancers at the auto fair for about 2 years to find what I needed.

^^^Absolutely...hell, even the 460 changed internal/external balance in 79. That screws up guys all the time on the FB groups. And then you have the different bellhousing sizes, Windsor and FE are different from eachother which is different from the 335 series and 385 series...which are the same, unless you 351m/400 out of car from the early 70's that just so happens to have a small bell housing that matches the Windsor family, but those were few and far between, most still had the big bell. But if you have a manual trans the bellhousings are detachable, but the C6 isn't. It can definitely be a mess.

I collect things to work on and projects that will never be finished. Current addictions are metalworking machinery and heavy equipment. At one point I had 3 full size lathes in my shop...

Oh we were suppose to include those too?? Ive got enuf that if I quit gathering/collecting those things TODAY Id have to live to be 150 to get em done.

Been on a kick for conversion companies, concepts, factory power ratings, and expanding in to some of the earlier stuff...and for whatever reason, I love upholstery samples:

I'm always a sucker for the sneak peaks and Data Book (different from facts manual) info:

Random inserts I didn't have in the facts manuals:

I got in to a phase of getting sick of reading everyone on the internet that had 4 429CJ's sitting in the back 40 and they were rated at ellebenty hundred horsepower. So I stocked up on model year announcements with corresponding specs (have 63-74) as well as facts manual inserts:

I've even snagged some concept press kits, Ford is bringing the Bronco back, baby:

I keep most of my plates off my vehicles, and I have a few odd plates like a silver permanent plate from when the state changed to orange and an NC manufacturer plate. I have a few Dodge things but they're so few and far between.

I was staring at the front diff trying to figure out when the first year solid 44 front was and completely missed the irokage.

I collect broken stuff, information, and parts I might be able to resell. Mostly forlorn jeeps. I used to collect dodge neons. Smh. Lost a lot on those pieces of crap, but the 5sp's were fun, always wanted an srt-4. Collect old computers but got out of that once they started charging stupid money to dispose of the remaining guts. Information must be the most useful thing I collect other than miscellaneous electrical connectors.

I have a few manuals from here and there. My sis bought me one for all Jeep FS trucks and suvs from 60's - 80's..... not much ever changed

Went to another sale today and bought a bunch of old shop manuals.
