Axle Identification

What kind of axle is this? My cousin gave it to me, but I'm just going to sell it. I thought he said it's a Ford 9" but I'm not sure.

I thought 8.8s had rear discs. Or is that after a certain year?

9" doesnt have a removalble diff cover, the R&P come out the front with the third member.

explorers had discs after 96 I believe?

Its most likely an explorer 8.8, pre 95, Disc Brakes were post 96, My explorer axle had that weight hanging off the pinion as well. The driver should be a bit longer than the passenger side.
