axle question

what would be a few good doner trucks from junk yards that I could find heavy duty axles in to swap to my 89 k5??

well I really dont know much on the subject lol but I will be on the pavement a little more then the trail and my tires wil be 38x12.5x15 will I also need to upgrade the tranfer case?

350? with what trans? and my guess is a np208 t-case?

I guess its the 700r4 and as for the tcase I have no idea

a 4 speed auto is a 700r4 and the t-case has a tag on it that will tell you what it is, more than likely its a 208.

your best bet is to find a cucv truck with the 1 ton axles. they have 4.56 gears. or you can find them on here sometimes. your looking for a 14 bolt full floater rear and a dana 60 front with a passenger side drop. unless your already running 38s your driveshafts will have to be lengthened also. a 208 should hold up as long as your not beatin the crap out of it non-stop or adding alot of hp.

theres military surplus' everywhere, most 3/4 or 1 ton stuff never makes it to the junkyard, shoot ive had trouble finding 1/2 ton stuff here lately that wasn't through the roof
