Got a replacement Warn stub shaft and the Yukon Super Joint went on perfect and rotates perfect. Pressed on the old inner and the joint is extremely tight to the point you can feel the metal grinding. Took it apart checked it good (caps and cross), deburred the trunions, no joy. Tried putting a good Spicer 760 in the inner and it was also very tight to turn. Could the ears of inner shaft be tweaked to the point the bores are out of alignment? No way the Super Joint cross is tweaked.

i've run into bent ears before... pretty common and easy to do if you use a press, which most people do....

kinda curious... why don't you go ahead and look into a aset of hardened or chromo inners? if i recall correctly, the superjoint warranty is void if used with oem shafts isn't it?

these are Yukon inners and the circlips go on fine but I will check the distance just in case the ears are bent OUT. Yukon only warranties the cross and for good reason. I doubt there are shafts out there that will hold long enough to damage the cross. I am wondering if ears can twist or something because there are gashes on the ends.
