Are there any draw backs from using angled axle shims when you do a lift?

Im fixing to start he resto on my 89 YJ and part of it will include a 4" lift and a 1" body and motor lift...

Im thinking with a 1" motor lift, and rear axle shims will really help the driveline angle of my YJ.

Any comments/suggestions?

Thanks in Advance

rear shims are ok, as long as they are the good kind made into the spring pack itself.... ( different degrees available too)some of the cheaper ones can actually take up too much space for the spring pack centering bolt, casuing the axle to shift from the leaf spring a little... ive used both and have had no problems .

Steel shims only. Don't use aluminum.

I'm getting ready to lift my jeep yj also with a RE 4" lift, does it really help alot to lift the motor. If so how much. I'm worried about the drivline angle too. I don't have the money to spend on a slip yoke eliminator so this might help me out for the time being.
