Bad cough and chest congestion...who's got it.

Jake came home from work last week feeling sick and we tried hard to stay away from him.It didnt work,woke up Sunday morning with chest congestion and a bad cough.Bad enuf that my ribs are sore from coughing.Went to the DR this morning and got some meds.Dr says she has seen it all in the past week or so,RSV,the flu,Covid and pneumonia.Tonya has it now and were suppose to be goin back to OH the first of the week.Is this happening in NC too??
 
Yup, I got it while I was visiting my brother, in upstate NY. Down here in NC 2 dam weeks of hacking coofing, was literally out for 3-4 days.
Haven't been sick like that in 10 years or more....
 
I've been tryin to work thru it since the weather has been warm and the ground has dried up some but its about whooped my ass.
 
Both my boys had Flu A back to back a couple weeks ago. Case was down for about 8 days. The day he started feeling better Drew got it and was down for another 7-8 days. That was a rough couple weeks. Somehow me and Bobbie have avoided it. Bobbie works in the ER at the VA and they’ve been slammed for weeks with all of it.
 
I had it for a couple weeks right after Christmas. Cough like you say so bad ribs hurt and guts hurt. Almost blacking out from coughing. Put up with the cough for two weeks, finally went to doc. Negative for Flu A, B, Covid, even took a chest xray to make sure not pneumonia involved. 200mg Tessalon Perles shut the cough down immediately.

Im sure you know this but kids are toxic esp if they go to preschool or school,Parents wont keep em home when they are sick,Send em to school to make everybody else sick.Jake came home sick one time when he was little and during the night thru up all night.,We changed his bed 4 times.Finally just covered it what ever we had regardless if it went together or not.

Tonya's mom smoked when she was pregnant w her and she has a little bit of asthma as a result of it.The perles dont even knock the egde off her cough.She coughs like shes a 2 pack a day smoker when she's sick. It's kinda scary to watch cause you dont know if she's gonna catch her breathe or not.

Yep. For sure. I’ve lived that exact scenario a time or two. One night Case threw up in his bed twice I think, then he got in our bed and did it again. :laughing: He’s in kindergarten now, did pre-K last year. Neither of them were ever sick until pre-K started. I believe Case got sick the first week. Now one of them has something all the time it seems like.

In 05 we bought the only new vehicle weve ever had.The day after getting it jake puked all over the back seat and it got in between the front seats.Spaghetti and peaches,I can still smell it.
 
Yep, been a TERRIBLE year for sickness. I was sick for about 2.5 weeks before and during Christmas. Then I got sick again about 3 weeks ago. The second time I had a TERRIBLE cough.

My wife gets coughs so bad sometimes that she will puke.

Man, I lived through that too one night when my son was about 2.5 yrs old. Threw up multiple times in one night. I think I gave him a bath twice during the night. Changed sheets 3 or 4 times like you did too. Terrrible.
 
Woke up this morning with the room spinning. Nothing else, just dizzy. Moved to recliner, and have only got up to pee a couple of times. Drinking water and waiting it out. Did find some random leftover antibiotics, maybe it'll help.
