I just had to take time to share a bad experience. Not one for pity, hopefully you can get a laugh out of my misery. I know I will laugh about it later on. It is just to soon now. This happened as I removed the engine to prep it for paint and to gain access for finishing the motor mounts for its new location. Turns out the garage is just about a foot short of being able to pull out the engine. The hoist dropped over the edge and headed for the truck. Luckly the truck was there. My neighbor just got a GTO and he would have loved for my amc 360 to screw up that and his firebird as it crashed through his garage door.

:( That sucks

What sucks the MOST is you don't have some random idiot to blame....I really HATE when stuff happens and I only have myself to call names

Oh I have an idiot to blame. Who makes a driveway that steep? Only an idiot. Actually I am probably the idiot in this case. The engine was stuck on something I pried and away she went. The final clean up will take place tonight. As of this morning the oildry was still soaking up fluids. I sure hope the landlord doesn't decide to drive by today. Good news is that today I can find humor in the whole thing.

been there done that... (long time ago) nothing like bashing in an other wise good oil pan to. When i had my f250 i put a small hoist in the back corner, one time i was unloading 3/4 of a chevy capris frame for my brother race car and the chain shifted and it spun around and cliped the top edge of the box, made a nice pinch/dent any lower it would have done worse...

BTW: When house shoping i looked at places like that, the ads are always decieving. When my agent got there. I said "see this? NO! " she got my point...

Those pics are crazy.
Is that here in K-ville?
I can't thhink of too many sedan-type cars that coudl even clear the bottom angle w/o crunching, much less ANY kind of sportcar.
and WOW what fun getting into the garage w/o being able to see where yer going...
I would just never use the driveway!

My friends cars have trouble with their e-brakes on mine. Those are just crazy. My truck actually scrapes getting into and out of my driveway so there is no way to get into those. Haven't these people ever heard of a grader?

There's ones like that in my neighborhood too. crazy...

and if you cant even get your car up the driveway, then you have to walk up that shat everyday and think about when it gets icy, how much fun thatd be to carry groceries up that with 5 screaming kids.

No, not in kernersville It's in VA

But just think, your teenage boy would LOVE you....especially if he was into skate boarding and you build a 1/2 pipe at the bottom

in those pics, the angle from slant to flat is to great and it would catch your front wheels and launch you onto your face if you tried to skate down that driveway. I skated for a year and half

 sorry, this struk me as funny for some reason...kinda like in the movie "Son-N-Law" when something was mentioned and Pauly had majored in it for a 1/2 semester:D

Whats even stupider is that people will buy a house with a driveway like that
