Bad Wheel Bearings?

I have a '94 S-10 Blazer 4x4 that squeels like a scolded dog. It's a metal on metal sound coming from the front drivers side wheel. It gets louder with speed and worse when I turn. When I brake the sound goes away. I thought it was the brakes at first but I just checked them and they're good. I noticed some side to side play on that wheel but no top to bottom play. There's no vibes but sometimes the truck pulls either way randomly.

So, is it the wheel bearings? Do I need any special tools to replace them on my truck?

Thanks,
Jesse

sounds like a tie rod to me if it is just side to side. Move the wheel and see what is moving that should not be.

brake caliper is sticking. pull the tire off and attempt to slide the caliper in and out. its prob stuck. good luck. common on these!

I took the drivers side caliper off Friday morning. It was a little bit of a pain to get the piston pushed back but I've seen worse. The noise just randomly went away today. My friends and I drove it around for a while trying to get the noise to come back. We ended up going over the entire front suspension and replaced the idler arm. Everything else looked good. Might just replace that caliper just to be sure.
