Battery Cables and Winches

The winch cables should be run directly to the batt, so the batt cables shouldn't matter that much unless you upgrade the alt or add a baja array of daylighters. That being said, nothing wrong with going bigger--especially if yours are old and corroded.

I've thought about the same question. But my scenerio is having a winch mounted on a hitch deal to be able to move it from front to rear and just use thick battery cables. Or would you have some sort of quick connections mounted on front and rear with a plug mounted on the winch? Anyone run a hitch mounted winch setup?
I figured to just do the math when I get a winch. But since ajeeperwannabe brought it up...
Not hyjacking threads... Just adding to the equation.

brokeass4runner is using welding leads w/ plug type ends for his winch mounts front and rear, multi-mount style. pm him or maybe he'll say something about them in this thread

I had one winch that went between several rigs, and a trailer, I used the disconnects. The welding leads will work too.
