Anyone on here curretly run beads or familiar with them?If so what kind of beads do u use?How many ounces do i need to put in a 38.5/16/15?Is there any downfalls with running them?Any info will be greatly appreciated.thx in advance!

There are diagrams you can google & find. I had plastic air soft beads in my last pair of 32" & there was still a lot of vibes under 30 MPH. I'd rather balance them normally from now on.

I used airsoft beads in my last set of 35's. I figured (incorrectly I believe) that the heaviest beads would work best, due to needing less beads for same weight. The airsoft beads were pretty loud for a DD/WW and did not seem to balance below 35. However, when I had my new 35's & wheels installed the shop used a product (maybe dynabeads) to balance the tires and the result is better. The tires self balance quicker.

If it is a radial tire under 40 inches and isnt made by interco, pay the money and have a shop balance them correctly...it wont cost much more than all of the airsoft bbs. If you're trying to balance a large bias tsl then for the most part youre SOL, so read the chart add 12+ ounces of beads and hope for the best

I ran dynabeads in my 35" MTR/Ks and wasn't satisfied. Gave it about 6 months and went to a good tire shop and had them balanced with weights. It's much better now but I rotate and balance every 6-8k miles.

My 1st try, with Walmart soft air beads. Bought the 40oz. box [best price], & it came w/4-10oz.pk. Only wish I had the full pks. per tire. I cut back to 8oz. per tire. 33x15 radials, best balance, I've ever had. Got one or two tires, that vib some, at 65mph. Don't hear them, & with wear, chips, or rim slippage, will still be balanced. Put the other 2ox. per tire in new 14" Toyota tires, got 1 tire, at times, will vibrate, at 70. Maybe I'll add so bbs, sometime. It, WAS, a guessing game! Very satisfied!
PS: I never experienced an out of balance, Radial", w/wo-weights, under 40mph.

I had some bias ply TSL's once that had as much lead weight on the outside as the shop could put on, and a packet of some sort of beads (whatever that shop sold for big trucks) in each tire. It was pretty much a waste of effort and money. I currently have a set 32" AT's with airsoft pellets in them. They are pretty smooth up to about 60mph. At interstate speeds, you can barely keep it under control. They have pretty much rendered my truck useless for anything other than quick trips to the store for lawnmower gas. Dont try to cheap out, have them balanced by a professional.

I just didn't feel like the beads performed that well with my setup. Once I removed them, my wheels needed less than 2.5 oz of weights to balance. Maybe too many beads was my problem. Only reason I went to the beads to begin with was because of tire chunking and rim slippage.

I have had dynabeads in my 38x15.50x20 Nittos for a couple years now, they are smooth up to 80mph, I have had no issues with vibrations. I can't tell you how much was used as the tire shop put them in when they mounted them. I was very satisfied.

Ok,thx for all the replies.I should have mentioned that it is a set of tsl super swampers. The truck there going on is only for short trips to town at most and will never be on any kind of interstates.....So with that being said ill throw about 12oz in per tire and see what happens i guess. If anyone has any more advice just let me know.
