What are you guys opinions of various beadlocks???
Is it better to send them yours?? Buy new??
Who has the best for your money??
All replies and experiences wanted..
I've got 15x10 MT classic street locks if that matters.
Thanks,

if you can weld get some do it your self bead locks they are really easy to do. 99ncxj on this board sells a really good kit thats what I put on mine. I beleive you would have to cut off the street lock to put these on or sell them to some mall crawler and get a set of black steelies and do it to it!

Doug Let me know if I can help. Made a set for Jason Lackey recently also made some outside rings for Kevin(KC4X4) to fit his that he kept bending. Click on Kore at the bottm and you can see what we offer.

So you haven't had any problems out of the Stauns? I'm just a little scared of puncturing the tube when installing them. The installation looks like a pain in the arse. But the design is simple, I like it.

The Staun's have now been redesigned and are a TON easier to install. We have them down to less than 20 min a piece with the new design. They are more rigid so they hold their shape while you are putting them in. Much easier than the old design.

I have some more new ones on order if you want to swing by and take a look.

Just not sure how the radials will do with beadlocks. Didn't you cut one Greg? My other question is, is it worth $600 to air down from 12lbs I run now to 6lbs?

The root that took out Greg's radial IROK would have punched through any tire. It was a rough one. It went straight all the way through.

I'm leaning more to aluminum, not sold on the idea, just thinking less unsprung weight???

I've just bought a Cherokee, that has no tires or wheels, and can run 35's or 36's.

I can get 5 MT Classic 2's for 100.00. Thinking I would send them out to have them bead locked.

The cheapo steal wheels are 45.00 and then have to DIY beadlocks, Or buy the pre made steel beadlocks for 120-150.

Just rambling!?!?!?!

Absolutely.

I've cut two tires...one at Gulches on the root Andy mentioned (it went through the tire, the Staun casing and the Staun bladder)...

the other one was cut on a rock at Crozet...no damage to the Staun casing or bladder...

Are you still running radials?

I have been more than pleased with my beadlock kit I got from Rob at rockcity
that is 3 PSI in this pic, I have never had a problem going that low

Doug, I haven't really seen too many aluminum locks on the trails. Probably expense but I'd be afraid of cracking one on the stuff we ride. Definately go for the 32 bolt, the 16s I had wouldn't seal as well.

thanks for the plug. I try to keep a set in stock at all times and hope to be making them for other size wheels in the future. if you are local we can do the welding for you. I run radials on mine and have no problems. I even run mine on the road on my DD. no vibes or any other problems.

Are you still running radials?

unfortunately, yes...

I have the warranty on the them through 4WP...so I keep replacing them at ~$25/each...

I wish I could just go to a bias-ply each time I rip one, but it's a like-for-like exchange...

If I could find somebody that would pay what I considered a fair price for all four of my radials, I'd swap out...otherwise, I'll just keep running 'em for now...
