i need to find someone who is capable of bending 2"od .25"wall dom. im trying to get my control arms out of the way so i can turn.

You might try an exhaust shop - most have hydraulic madrels that could make short work of the job. The tough part is exact bends to keeps both sides of the rig Symmetrical. That is a good idea, and I may consider that too. I have a 97 TJ w/ stock wheels, and my tires rub the LCAs also.

tube bender

i have a tube bender i can bend it if you now what youre degress are or i have 1.5 od with a .5 id dom i can just make you a set of arms?

2" .250 wall would take a powerful bender .. i just bent some 1.75 with a .188 wall and thats all my bender wanted

I put two small bends in my 1.5"OD, 0.25" wall track bar with a HF pipe bender. It actually wasn't that hard either.

There is a BIG difference between 1.5 .250 and 2.0 .250 tubing in strength.
I bent my stinger with my HF bottle jack bender, 2" sch.40!

damn, 2" x .25 wall? I bent some 1.75 x .25" wall @ 90* on my JD2 and killed the retaining strap. I didn't get any further to see what else would fail...

you may just have to have them made and shipped

Heat and a 10-20 ton press

I bent .250 wall tube by heating it and using a Harbor Freight type 20 ton press. If you careful you will not mushroom it out.

Did both steering arm and trac bar on XJ High Steer.

I have two tube benders, one heavier duty than the other and I would not try to bend .25o wall with either one.

From a quick calc to find the moment of inertia(or second moment of area) of those shapes, the 2"x.25" is approximately 2.7x stronger(in bending) than the 1.5"x.25", all other things equal.
Thanks, I did not have the calc., I just knew there was a big difference.

As was stated before, sch. 40 is almost half the wall thickness and welded pipe is not work hardend like DOM and therefore is easier to bend. I am not trying to flame, but CHUCKMAN should chime in here on the use of your tow hooks on your bumper. He almost got killed from one breaking off and hitting him in the back of the head years ago. I'm out till sunday.

Yup, improperly fastened tow hooks are dang good weapons. They make funny shapes in your skull, and make you temporarily blind and deaf.

Sch 40's only .150 wall.

I see what you mean, big difference!

Work hardening also makes a big difference.

I believe you completely, & would not let myself, or anyone else anywhere near their trajectory path when using them.

That said, & have 16 years of professional welding experience,& I welded those on with many hot passes.
They have been put to quite a few tests already, & would have to snap in the curved area for them to break loose.
Those welds will hold until the whole front of the jeep rips off!

ive emailed some companies that bend big tube and they said they could do it but its min $500 labor charge. they said anyone with a cnc bender could do it, so i just need to find a company locally that doesn't mind doing small jobs.

I can get them bent on a cnc baleigh if needed, its one beast bender. How much do you need them bent? I can assure you it would be less than 500 dollars.
