I have varying quality straps….
USARatchet.com with snap hooks - awesome but aging; use these for my mustang and broncos
Lowe’s/Home Depot “double J” wires - it’s what you expect; functional but stretch is terrible; use these for hauling debris, junk, sharp stuff, etc (these are disposable IMO)

If I decide to replace my USARatchet straps with comparable quality, what would you strongly recommend? I strongly prefer snap hooks and would love made in US. UV resistance is a nice bonus for when I leave stuff sitting in my trailer for chunks of time.

Let me know what you’d buy!

USA ratchet made in SC
They have snap, wire j hook, chain end and more.

Plus their ratchet mechanism is patented and truly works

US Cargo Control, I've got a few straps from them and I love them. Much better quality over the trash straps I used to buy. I'm about to purge myself and get new standard 2" straps, axles straps, and wheel lassos. Getting 16 straps for about $250, pretty decent deal imo

I have Genos tie downs, bought them at Food Lion Autofair years ago. They are good and reliable for longer than they should be used. The axle straps can be used as a choker where most won't fit through each other.

I have a set from him as well. He is, or was at least local to me. I called to order a set and he was set up somewhere in PA at the time. He built them and mailed them to me. He wouldn’t let me pay him until I got them and was happy with them. Then he just had me mail him a check.

I *think* the axle straps and T/J frame hooks I have are from Geno's. I bought them at Carlisle one year and I specifically remember him saying he was out of Virginia, so that tracks. Damn good prices and very well made. The dude had soooo much stuff! I think 4 axle straps and 4 T/J hooks were 100 or 120 bucks? The axle straps are the ones with the metal rings on the ends. Very convenient. Very heavy duty. Very demure :D

I just use some Agri Supply ratchets and straps. They've held up well and they sell the straps separately in case you mess one up, which is nice. They're 27 feet long and affordable enough to keep 4 of them at full length and cut another 4 to 10 - 12 feet. I've never felt that they weren't up to any task I've thrown at them.

He was in Bristol, VA I believe.
#1 for Genos also. Only straps I will buy now. Great customer service and high quality straps.
Is he still in business? The Geno’s Belt Service FB page hasn’t been updated in a few years, and Google doesn’t bring anything up now either.

Good to know.

I use these. They are USA made too I believe out of Ohio.

last time I called him he was. He shipped them right to my house. That was probably last year. I always wondered why he didn't try and get more of an online presence. His prices and quality was unmatched imho.

Good to know. I still have his number saved if I need another set.

Chains and binders... All my stuff has scars on it anyway. Don't have any stretch or movement while towing either.

Really like the Mac’s I picked up a few years ago for car hauling. Everyday use tie downs I’ve found the rural king wire hook straps are hard to beat especially for the price.
I bent 2 Mac's ratchets handles in my car hauling bundle. Not a fan.

That said, their short hooks (direct hook) are awesome.

Same goes for the heavily sleeved axle straps, very good.

Also love the chain extension in case you have to anchor to a shitty / rough point

I LOVE the ones I got here several years ago... IIRC, made in NC, chains on both ends & about 6' long
Similar to these
