bfg krawlers or maxxis

Get Boggers. I'm getting a new set soon but they're going to be 37's instead of 33's.

I have good friends including myself that beleive in Iroks,TSLs,& Boggers. I just bought a set of 35 Creepy Crawlers to try something different and Iam very happy with the performance so far. They seem to have a tougher sidewall than I have seen before. Got mine from a tire shop in Clayton that we buy tires from. Awesome prices and can get anything. Got mine for like 290.00 a tire or around that, maybey less

i myself have bfg mud terrains and i know that they last a long time, even on the highway. (22,000 miles and 2/3 tread left) i figure you will get the same performance out of the krawlers. so if you drive on the highway alot, then i would recommend anything by bfg. check out fourwheelparts.com. they have good specials if you wait.

Brandon ( 91oneton) might chime in on this one

I know he said he could get me the maxxis, trying to remember who said they could get me the red label krawlers ( stickies), blue label are regular rubber

I would love to know who can get the red label krawlers again...if anyone wants to shoot me a PM and let me know

Are you talking regular or comp compound, and what size? Makes a BIG difference.

Hell with all the misinformation that's already been spewed (other than one or 2 relevant posts), you'd probably be better off just deleting this and starting over...

How someone can think a Krawler will last a long time, and that Boggers are even remotely in the same class as a sticky Creepy is beyond me...

Comp compound Krawlers work better than comp compound Creepy crawlers, but the creepy cralwers are a way tougher tire. Stick to Iroks or TSL's unless you're ready to drop big coin.

From someone who ran 36" Bias Iroks and switched to 37" Comp. compound Trepadors... the difference is night and day... Iroks cant even begin to compare.. In the 37" size I'd try to get my hands on a set of Sticky Trepadors....

Before you switch to Sticky tires.... upgrade shafts.. My factory 44 shafts didnt like them, but the Alloy's had no problems w/ trussed axles.

i have a brand new set of comp trepadors (stickys). got them from a guy sponsored by maxxis. they were an extra set, i had cash, you do the math. anyway, back to the subject: i think ill like them, they are very sticky. havent used them yet. guy i got them from said i wont like them till i break them in. then ill love them. THEY ARE VERY STIFF! i think krawlers may be stickier, but these have thicker sidewalls by far.
on that note, my buddy runs irocs on the trail and i am really impressed with them. the difference between the 2 types are like night and day. the treps are stickier tread, but square shouldered. vs the iroks are more balloony and seem to flex on the rocks. iroks are cheaper.
so i guess there are too many variables to say one tires great and on stinks. my $0.02

You're right about breaking them in... run them around on some rough concrete and basically scuff them up.. From my last trip to Callalantee, I walked the waterfall (didnt even spin a tire).. The other 8 guys on Iroks ALL pulled cable... Some were in XJs of similar size, Rovers, TJs, you name it.. The tires are amazing.

In any kind of sloppy conditions the Trepadors excelled... I think if MAXXIS came out w/ a 40-42" Trepador they'd completely have the market.. if they don't already.

fuck a duck, $600 a tire for the trepadors? DAMN! Guess it's like Bigwoody said, unless you want to drop big coin, stick with TSLs, I paid $400 for 4 slightly used 36" TSLs they'll suit me fine.

I've got $1000 in 4 37" Red label Krawlers w/ about 70% tread, a spare that's brand new, and 5 Cragar soft 8 wheels (new wheels). For having $700 in the tires, I think I came out pretty good. I've also heard they work best once they are worn down some.

I hope to not have many problems w/ cutting tires since my buggy will be pretty light though...

guess the original thread's been highjacked. sorry, man. i cant help but wonder which stickies are better- the trepadors or creepy crawlers. creepys are the older style, but i still see more comp rigs running them then the treps. i find that odd, considering maxxis' own ad refers to the treps as the competition tire of the two.

well, you still never said whether you wanted sticky's or regular..
