Well, Travis,Kyle, my wife and I got up to the camp headquarters around 2:30am Friday morning. We stopped there beside a canopy and table where all the signing in was going on(during regular hrs) and with the trucks running I hopped out to see what Travis thought we should do since we had absolutely no clue where to go from there.
As I said "Hey man, what do you think we should do? go ahead and sign in or..." I guy stuck his head up and out from underneath the table behind me and said "no you guys go ahead" -Nearly scaring the life out of me!!! It was John Hunt himself and he was just there sleeping on the ground. One would have thought with two rumbling diesels a man would get up as he heard them coming and not wait to give someone a heart attack.
Anyway that was the start of a wild wknd. We were lucky enough to have Doug Bigelow hang out and fill us in on everything(Big Thanks). Friday we had a good day until Travis' new to him Maxxis Stickys proved to be to much for his 14blt rearend. We got that welded up early sat. morning but it didn't hold 5mins into the "Bunny Trail". Shortly there after I sheared a front D-shaft bolt off on "insanity" and with out an EZ out I wasn't fixing anything. An hr. and a half later I was back on top of the Mtn. and we had two warn winches in bad need of some new solenoids. It was only about 1pm so we retired to the nice beach at one of the lakes they have there and got the party started a little early. The few trails we did get to see were pretty insane. The biggest rock gardens I have ever seen anywhere. You could pick your lines and make it as hard as you wanted, unfortunetly. We never really got into the skinny pedal the whole time, it was pure crawlin'. The big party Sat. nite was pretty good too. Sorry for the book, here's a couple pics.
