Here are a few photos of my 1980 BJ41. I’m leaving Japan in a few months and I’m having the LC shipped to the states. I’ll be moving somewhere around Goldsboro. The Cruiser is completely stock. The 2B Diesel engine under the hood runs strong and from what I’ve read, it puts out around 93hp and 159ft lbs of torque. My plan is a complete, body off the frame, restoration. I plan on getting many parts for it before it gets shipped. Just figured I would show you guys my daily driver.

Steering wheels on the wrong side. :driver:

Will they give you any hassles about safety glass and door latches? I know when I was stationed in Japan in the early 80's, it was hard to bring a car back, because the safety laws were different.

importation laws...

The law goes something like this: 25 or more years old, it is considered a classic or an antique, which means there is no importation contract with a registered importer necessary, like someone(kilby) would need when bringing something like a 1999 GTR34 VSPEC II. The only thing US Customs and the DOT need to see is a translated tidal to prove the vehicle is old enough to be exempt. The only thing I was worried about with the right hand drive was if I had to pass someone, HAHA, ya right. I’ll post more photos soon.

sweet crusier

Have to admit, I look at most rigs and think of things to mod on it. That one, I think I would keep original. Sweet ride(comming from a Jeep guy)

Thanks. I agree with keeping it original. Here are a few photos from a place we call The Golf Course. It wasn't deep but it sure was fun.

Sweet cruiser, I had alot of fun in okinawa myself wheeling, there are actually lots of trails on the island that run through the mountains up north. Stuff that a locked hilux on 35's used to be challenged with. It has been awhile back so I could not tell you the exact locations of anything. We used to also wheel a place called horseshoe if that rings any bells.

That is the biggest Mountain Dew can I've ever seen.

How do you afford the f-ed up Japanese inspection processes?
Oh, and send me a HiLux (saw top gear and fell in love) over while yer at it...

HILUX Pick Up

This is my old truck. It had the 3B diesel engine. The Japanese inspection is completely ridiculous. All the money I paid in different taxes, fees, and insurance policies for just one year was almost as expensive as the original purchase. This is just another reason why I CANâ€T WAIT TO GET BACK TO AMERICA.

That's another cool truck that I'd like to have here in the states. As for the taxes fees and insurance. I pay over half the purchase price for my truck for all that stuff per year. Don't worry, it won't be long and the good ol' U.S. of A will be just as high.

i saw one of them bj4 things driving down the highway today, it was a green color with right hand drive..on bus 85 south around 5 10 tonight
