Blazer rear shocks

Ok, so i did a 14 bolt conversion and in the process I (had to) cut off the original shock mounts from the axle and the frame. So now I am getting a diy-four-by shock mounts for the axle and the beam that goes between the frame. The question is-where do i weld on the new tabs onto the axle? similar to original position with one in front and one in rear? Or on top? Please help. Thanks.

On my 84 suburban I used the factory top mount (lines up with dimple in frame. The bottom tabs are behind on driver side and in front on passenger with center of bolt even with bottom of axle tube (14 bolt ff). Hope this helps.
