Blinker issue

1979 VW beetle.

Added LED bulbs to the rear of the car and it flashed normal. Added bulbs to the front of the car and no it no blinks. Bulbs are a good brand 1157 series (marker/blinker). I tried an adjustable LED blinker module and no luck)) tomorrow I’ll put the incandescent bulbs back in the front (point where I lost blink capabilities as far as I can tell) and see if it solves the issue but just stumped on why it would do this.


Vw’s are known to not have a super strong alternator so trying to LED it out to save on battery juice. May have gone to far??

Try to find the old school Dino based stuff. The flashers on the old VWs aren't calibrated to work with synthetic.

Seriously though, pull the indicator bulb at the speedometer. If the flasher starts working, you need a VW specific electronic flasher relay. Regular ones usually don't work because of how the lights are wired.
