I now have Blackdiamond shocks. They seem fine.

I also have a gift certificate for (4)of the new Rancho xL.
They look cool and have 9 way adjustability.

Also a gift cert. for superlift superide shocks(4 of em)

I have a lotta problems, but shocks aint one!

Should I replace the rather new BDs with either of the other 2 free sets.

I won the certs. at Dixie Run this year!

Rancho

i would go with the rancho's...smoooooooth

I love the BDs on my old CJ.
"Upgraded" to an early set of adjustable ranchos and hated life.IO actually pulled the rancho off and installed el cheapos from AA for an upgrade.

YMMV

these are supposed to be the newest''better mousetrapp''
I wonder if they are better than your ''early set''..
Youre right about the BDs. They seem fine and I've
had 2 sets on two different jeeps now.

I think I will try the ranchos and sale the superlifts, keeping the BDs as a back up plan.

Sell them all and get a pair of good shocks... say it with me.. monotube...

Everything else is a different version of the same old junk.

yeah but on a basicily stock bodied cherokee, where do monotubes fit in?
They are just for cut up buggies and super long travel rigs
right? or can they be a direct replacement with no new shock hoops or towers? I guess i am clueless about em'.

They make OEM replacements also.

Do some research on Bilstein, Edelbrock IAS, etc...

they're not very cheap...but its well worth the extra cash

They range in price quite a bit. I used to cruise around with no shocks on the eb, then realized the merit of shock absorbers. Now that I've learned more about them I've gone to bilstein 5100's on the towrig. Definitely well worth it. (and coilovers on the bronco).

Though, if the jeep is just for slow trails or rocks I still don't really see the need for the extra cash.

I disagree.. That's all I used to do with the cruiser and still noticed a good increase in control with them. Dropping off a 3 foot rock was a much better experience when there was dampening there.
