Looking for a radio ... "radio" for my Jeep, and realized that I've only listened to spotify for music or podcasts for a few years now without even tuning in to AM/FM. Is there a Bluetooth only radio out there? I haven't seen one, or just seen the bluetooth receiver add ons you can buy.

My current plan is to pick one of these up:

That still has AM/FM, but seems everything is.

Scour Amazon and look for marine grade boating units. I'll add a link once I get some free time from work.

I’ve been using a marine grade JVC media player head unit in my TJ for 5+ years and it’s worked flawlessly. Paid about $75 for it on Amazon.

I run a bluetooth marine amp only in my YJ. I just the radio space in the dash for my GMRS and just have the amp tucked behind it, out of sight. It's great for just the 4 cheap speakers I have. The volume control on it is meh at best so I just use the volume buttons on my phone. I've actually got a second one, brand new in box, if you decide you wanna go this route.

This is the ticket in hotrods and such.
You just blutooth rght to the amp without a headunit at all. Lots of em have dedicated remotes if you dont want to deal with using your phone

This one has a dedicated volume control knob that can be mounted somewhere but what I've found is that it's only useable for the first 1/4 turn. Everything past that does nothing and trying to adjust from nothing to full blast in a 1/4 turn sucks. That's why I just leave it on blast and adjust volume on my phone. It's also the reason I have a second one. I had planned to swap the volume controller out and see if it was just a defect in the first one but never got around to it.

Wow that's exactly what I was looking for. And it's cheap!

I'll have to upgrade too now. What speakers do you have?

Can you guys actually hear your music with the doors/top off? My stereo and speakers suck. I mean suck. I can’t hear anything with just the windows down. I’ve been wanting to upgrade, it’s just low on the list.

I've got a Kenwood Bluetooth head CD receiver with two 6" Enrocks. Where mine are mounted in the dash doesn't direct a lot of sound towards me, but rather straight back into the passenger seat. Doing highway speeds in mine I have to crank it pretty loud, which I do anyways.
Where mine comes in great is when I back up to a party or camp spot with the engine off. Then it's QUITE audible. I feel like a lot of times I'm losing 60% of the sound while driving especially over a dualed out V8 with no top and just soft doors.

But like the old saying goes: The car beside me is listening to some damn good music...whether they like it or not. :smokin:

I can hear it going down the road with the top and doors off, and it's very clear/crisp, but it's pretty much maxed. It's extremely loud and clear when stationary.

I've got a mismatched pile in the Moss... But it's plenty loud
Ancient Rockford-Fosgate "Punch" amp fed by Amazon Chiwan-grade BT receiver with inline volume control... to a YJ/TJ? 6 speaker overhead (cut to fit the narrow gauge cage)

I have one very similar, just pre-bluetooth. The volume knob is the same, on mine.

I used it to run a pair of wakeboard speakers mounted to the roll cage and pointed forward toward toward the back of the front seats. I cant speak to driving on the road, but they will get plenty loud enough to hear, even during full throttle beatdowns.
