Ok, so not a 4x4 event, but as a number of folks here make things other than just off-road rigs, I thought I'd pass this along.
The Beaufort Maritime Museum is having a wooden boat building competition and my folks are volunteering in it. As I understand it there are still open spots for builders.
Here's how it works, you get a two person team together. You pay $100 bucks, bring your tools and get your materials and you get to build a rowboat (and race it). The record is less then two and a half hours to build it.
For details go to: http://www.beaufortboatbuildingchallenge.com/
-- I think Rob should enter.
