Here's my first post. Nice forum by the way. Glad I was steered to all of ya.
My buddy has come across an '80 CJ7. Its an auto and I was wondering if anyone knows which one exactly. It all seems factory, 258, d300 case,amc20 rear. I think its a torqueflite999/7xx something or another. Any ideas? The real kicker for me is the fact that it has a 60/40 split bench thats factory! I have seen many a jeep and I thought I have heard it all if I haven't seen it myself.
We are in the process of a body-off build up. Our second one. He wants to go with an aluminum body. I know of AJ's and the quadratec options. For some wack-azz reason he was wondering about a diamond plate tub. I told him I think I've seen one before, but its been a couple of years. Has anyone ever heard of anyone who makes those? Any help would be appreciated. And flaming of the newbie is expected.
