01 XJ..So my steering has being gitn a littel off and yesterday startd hearing "that noise" u always hear when track bar bracket is loose on a Unibodyd XJ, so I took a look @ it, and one of the Two bolts on the bottom of the bracket had the head of the bolt sheared off, so my guestion is do I take the time to "ez"-out the rest of the bolt or just weld up the hole and all around the mount, Anybody ever done that?.. I think it would be fine... any Thoughts and Input appreciated, Thanx

I hear a lot, but never seen, people weld the whole mount to the unibody.
Is it all stock components? what size tires?
Its Got two" spacers/ add-leaf w/ 30x9.5x15 soft 8's, just orderd 3.5" the other day so going to 32-34's.... I figured I could just butt weld that hole up and then a littel around the whole mont and mayb a gusset, deff, ordering tracbar soon Iv owned and wheeld to death 5 Xj's since the late 90's and Iv always had some issue's with the mount getting loose but it was just a mattr of tighting them up everyoil change or so, but nevr had a bolt shear off..

I vote for extracting the old bolt, might be a pain but its the best way. If you do weld the mount on, make sure to plate the "frame" otherwise it'll just rip the metal around the welds

red loctite will keep them from loosening. if you have a welder, remove the bracket, weld a washer to the bolt remnant and weld a nut to the washer. remove while still hot. my dollar three-eighty.

I think ur right, probly the "easyr" route. But I was just tryn to not remove the whole thing, but it would be a good thing to build into a steering box brace/ track braket plate?, I havnt seen any heavy-duty replacments for the actual mount except the one that comes w/ the BoomProff track bars that r 190$, i just need the bracket, or fab one up I guess.

That would deff work but was tryn not to remove unless I replaced it w a beffyr version, which I havnt found. Im really dumbfounded of how I even managed to shear the bolt head off
