Hi all, just joined the site today. I own a 06 Grand Cherokee 4.7L. Was wondering if theres anyone in or around the Boone or ASU area that's on the forums. I've been wanting to go to Richlands soon but I don't know the trail.
 
We are just south of Boone and do Richlands a good bit. I will check with my fiance (he is a member here too Reznory) and see when he was planning on going back up.
 
A whole bunch of us are around here. We rarely do richlands, but its always an option I guess.
 
Cool, glad to see a few wheelers up here. I was looking at richlands because I'm pretty much stock for now. Got some D-rings up front and a lift waiting to be put on. Hardly anything close to a 94 YJ with 36" irocks haha.
 
a bunch of us just went to the richlands over the weekend. it was my first time up there and it wasnt to rough. a couple guys took stock toyotas up there with no problems.
 
We can go right now if you have tow hooks and a strap. It'll be slick and muddy on the Buffalo Cove side.

Text me at 828-260-4641 whenever you feel like going. I usually work 60-80 hours a week, but I can always fit it wheeling time. Richlands is fairly close for me. I also know a guy with a private place to go wheeling, but I haven't been yet, and I'd need to talk to him about bringing a "guest." It's near Lenoir too. Is your WK stock basically? We went through several times with a stock WJ, there's a few places you might drag something, but nothing you can't get across if you take a good line. We have a couple of good spotters and picture takers in the family too. I'm always available on Sundays, and some Saturdays. Saturdays are usually for more organized rides with Trail Jammers or going to events like ECORS because I'm only off 2 saturdays a month. I have to plan around stuff like that. At least I can pick the saturdays I work. Lot of stuff coming up soon, Uwharrie and Brown Mountain will be open soon. Brown Mountain might be an option for you too, it's near Lenoir as well. Let me know if you hear of any places around Boone. I'm wanting to go to Callallente, but I want to get some rock sliders at least before I go there. Next two weeks are gonna be busy, got a d44 to put in the back with a detroit locker and 4.88 gears, and then I'll have to either build a hp30 or regear my stock d30. I'd love to go ahead and lock the front, but I really want to go with a selectable locker in the front because we go in the snow a lot, and we've already spent close to $5k on this thing since January so I'm gonna have to slow down on mods lol. Hopefully I can at least get this d44 in sunday, or depending on how I feel, I might just go riding and let Rides put it in for me. I'll be in 2 wheel drive for a few days unless Rides does my axle swap, then I'll just let it sit there til they can regear the front or build my hp30.

Anyway, enough rambling...let me know when you want to go riding. We usually go somewhere every sunday if possible. It's basically our family fun time.
 
Reznory, sounds great! I'll give ya a ring sometime and we can go hit the trail. Yea I'm pretty stock right now. Got D-rings on the front and tow straps. A bunch of parts waiting to be put on but they are at home in Charlotte. Its hard on the wallet when your in college haha. But I'll definitely give you a ring sometime and we will go hit it.
 
I go to ASU as well. Looking to do some wheeling sometime soon. I have an 89 Isuzu trooper stock right now. Lift coming this summer with 31's or so. Shoot me a txt when you are planning to go out. 910-818-2959
 
I went to the richlands a few weeks ago......did some racecar driving
 
Richlands rd. Is a state road.........I don't think they are going to close it anytime soon. If you get off the main road then you're tresspassing.
 
Alright ya'll. I'm planning a run tomorrow around noon to 1ish. I get out of class at 12 so i could be there by 1 and I have practice at 330 so id have to leave by 3 I reckon. Gives us (or atleast me) a solid 2 hours of wheeling. Anyone wanna join?

Going to richlands next sunday morning mar 27. At least 5 trucks. pm me if you wont to join. I'll tell you when to be at richland rd entrance on 321. we'll be glad to have you.
 
Could go again Sunday the 20th. Text me if you want to go. Anyone and everyone is welcome. We saw the fabled Boobicon jeep tonight in Richlands. Used one of my new AEV wheels to grind down a rock too LOL. It'll buff out with a grinder wheel. Text me if anyone wants to go. Probably won't leave til 11 or 12.
 
DAMMIT. missed you yesterday and today reznory. My bad man. Widow Maker, I have to travel to Vanderbilt next weekend for some baseball games but if they somehow get canceled I'd be down to go. I'll let you know.
