So without going into a ton of backstory, I've been very occupied lately with the death of my FIL and our new roommate... the MIL....

Anyway, while trying to get the MIL back to 100% we ran across some doctors that really helped us out. If you know the Mrs, or as I like to call her the "conversational sponge", she can pull out about any detail of your life with minimal effort. People like to spill their guts to her and I'm not sure why. Even complete strangers. Whatevs.

Anyway, she found out one detail was that this doctor is a high end rum guy. I know jack squat about rum besides what the after effects are. Can anyone here provide some recommendations? The tequila ones were spot on before so I'm returning for another round.

I reasonable premium rum is Flor de Caña.

The 12yo sells for about $35-40 a bottle. They have 15 & 18 y.o. available for $60ish. It's a long standing brand that I'd compare to something like McCallan scotch for reputation.

I don’t know from personal experience but have a friend who is a huge rum guy.

He said his two regularly obtainable faves are Flor de Cana and Diplomatico Ambasador

I'm not a huge Rum guy either but this was recommended by a rum lover, I think it was at least $50....maybe.

Thank you very much. I'll give them a look. I guess I fell out of touch with rum about the time I got housed by a bottle of the Captain and a 2L of coke.
Ya, Rum is just too sweet for me. I’ve tasted some samples Of “good stuff” at the liquor before, and they had a nice profile. But too sweet. Guess I’ll stick to samples for now. 😁
