I would not use them on anything that sees the highway. I'd see about getting my money back also. No one should sell tires that dry rotted.

You could always stack them in the yard and plant flowers in them though.:huggy:

Didn't you bust my balls yesterday for getting tires too big? :fuck-you:

I'd call the guy up asap and ask him wtf is up with that. If he specified they were only good for rollers or said they had dry rot you have no argument at all.

yea i am not going to use them, i drive the CJ...the tires on the CJ right now are in better condition than these by far.

the PMs between the user and i state that the he had some 31" m/ts with 85% tread. and he sent pics....guess i know why none of the pics were up close. i should have inspected them when i picked them up...but driving 2.5 hours each way had me wanting to get back home.

its cool though i like wasting money i could have used for NEW TIRES.

and yea i busted your balls cory, thats why this happened to me! karma! hah...

i will but i doubt i'll get it...plus i feel somewhat responsible for not inspecting them beforehand. just kind of sucks somebody would have me drive a total of 5 hours for useless tires and i am pretty sure they knew they were useless. probably why they have so much tread left...

Probably equal blame.. he should have disclosed it, and you shoulda looked at 'em...

^ i agree thats what i said. live and learn i guess...

either way if i took them or not i still would have been out 60 bucks in gas and a days work.

dude could have warned me of the dry rot before i even got in my truck this morning to go get them. since the pics he sent we crappy ones from a distance...

That sucks bro. Yea those sidewalls are garbage! I havent seen a BFG Baja Champion before either. What are those from the 80's?

Yep, they're junk. And I think you have the right attitude in accepting part of the blame.

However I seriously think you need to bring thsi up with thr seller. Even though you did have a chance to inspect them, he needs to know that selling tiresi n that kind of condition without any mention of it is NOT COOL. Even if it dosn't get you any $$$ back, at least he needs to know that he did something wrong so it'll decrease teh chances of that getting pulled on somebody else again in the future.
Go back and take a very close look at the pics he sent you. Can you see it at all in them? If not then you definitely have a better argument with him.

That's soem serious dry-rot. He'd have to either (a) be an idiot or (b) intentionally hiding it to not know.

id use em around the yard, wouldnt get over 20 mph with them. they look dangerous.

^^the pics are crappy and from a distance he sent me. i cant see any dry rot on them in the pics, even now that i know its there. and like i said i am taking some of the blame, i should have looked better. but like i said seeing as i asked him about them and he knew i was driving 2.5 hours there and back, its crappy he let me come get them. and i did call him when i got home, surprise surprise no answer. i left a voicemail.
and use them in the yard going 20? 1) i dont have a yard and two i bought tires to drive on, not to sit there and look ugly.

Did you buy them off a guy on nc4x4? If so whats his screen name so i know to stay away. Or you could just go to his other posts where he is selling stuff and warn others that he is deceitful! Obviously at this point he is going to avoid you, so help others not get deceived.

^^ yea he was off NC4x4, i'll give him a day or two to see if he wants to refund my money. or if he even replys to my voicemail. if not then in a day or two i'll post who it was.

^ but what it the tire busted...since its so dry rotted....then that will bust and so will the inner tube.

The inner tube would work.
Honestly, Ive driven on tires that bad before, but not at highway speeds. If its to the corner or between trails, I would not stress.....If you wanna hit the interstate prolly not a good idea.

Tubes would be better, though I believe technically they are illegal for on road use...

the guy PMed me, told me he'd get my money back and i'll get his tires back to him.
we will see if that actually happens. if it does i'll just delete this thread and forget the whole ordeal.

^^ oh yea and its not a CJ that i drive on the highway, but i actually do drive it a decent amount now....around town and sometimes up to 50 mph...so i dont think the inner tube thing would work. i'd rather just put GOOD tires on....

I know myself and my friend have had em at interstate speed many times, I had it in a 44" TSL and he has his In some 36" Iroks

^ with dry rot as bad as whats on mine? all around the sidewalls?

and how long did the actual tire hold up like that? still seems iffy to me but i appreciat ethe advice!

they guy said he'd get me my money back.....IF he sends it back i'll send the tires back, if not maybe i will try the inner tube idea...

All the tires I've put em in were because bad sidewall gashes, idk about dryrot . . . . .

the guy PMed me, told me he'd get my money back and i'll get his tires back to him.

Greeat, now he can try to sell them to some unsuspecting soul who might know know about dry-rot.

HEY, SELLER! THESE TIRES ARE DONE...GONE...END OF LIFE!

They wouldn't even be good for a strictly off road rig, since I'm sure the rubber is hard as a rock.
