Who and where has the best prices on brake controllers? Most likely going with a Prodigy but whats your opinion?

I went to Advance Auto and picked up a controller made by Hopkins...I think. It's an inertia type, not timed. It works pretty dang good and is really easy to change settings and setup. Does just about everything a Prodigy does, a few bucks cheaper.

i've had experience towing with 5-6 different brands, and imo the prodigy is a cut above. other units definitely get the job done, but lack the smooth and seamless operation of a prodigy. they also really shine if you have the need to frequently adjust the gain/settings for varying load weights, pulling different trailers, empty vs. loaded, etc. they might be a few dollars more than other brands/models, but to me it's negligible when you're talking about such an important piece of safety equipment. they're hardly the most expensive units out there, either. i think i payed about $75 for mine 3-4 years ago used.

I've got a prodigy P3. Works great but the only difference between it and the P2 is the screen that I can tell. Both have excellent reviews and are easily the industry leaders.

Who has the best price?

A P3 cost me 118 shipped off ebay.

I spend the extra 10 bucks for the screen and ease of use. Put it this way, I tow a pintle hitch and it never bangs back and forth...that's control.

i believe they all work great. i'm not particular on the brand i use but the prodigy seems to be easy to adjust having the read out on it. i don't use it though!

Prodigy P3 if you want to see it from the front, P2 if you mount it low and look down at it. They are really a a step above the rest, and a lifetime warranty to boot.

This isn't the easiest spot to mount it, but it offers the best access by far.. (This is a GMT800 Chevy)

I run the P3. Love it. I bought my from etrailer.com. Best prices I found anywhere and sometimes there are coupon codes floating around the internet.
