Broken Lug nut

I was attempting to remove my wheels today so i can take care of the issues that failed her. So i got 11 of the 12 lugs off the rear tires with no problem but the last one decided to break at the stop collar. They are part of a special key socket to take them off. I have tried just about everything except torching and drillin. I have already tried smashing a socket/key socket to get it off. The wheel holes are about 2 inches down into the rim. Any help is much appreciated.

Looks like the only option is to drill out the stud. I'd start with a 5/16 or 3/8 drill, then step up to 1/2". Not sure of the stud size, you may have to go larger than 1/2" to drill through the threads all the way.

Maybe get a socket that will fit over it without hammering it on and coat the sides with jb weld. Let it set up and then try?

@Azn Occassion did you get this done yet? I want to see you try all these other ideas before you end up drilling it out :D

I did "burn out" the spring bolt in a front Dana 60. After a week of soaking, heating, drilling, and easy outs I used a small tip with acetylene- oxygen and lots of oxygen to melts small pieces of the bolt and scraped out molten bits with a small screwdriver which was sacrificed. I did not melt or harm the threads and was to me the last resort. You could probably melt the lug nut and try to keep the heat towards the stud and away from the wheel.
