Gonna hit up Brown Mtn for the 2nd time this season at around 11ish AM today. Gonna have the 96CR250 and an 05CRF250R pulled behind my green TJ. Be wearing High Vis Jersey and pants.

How are the trails at Brown Mountain? I just picked up a dirtbike and was wondering if it would be a good place for a newbie to ride

Brown mountain has some nasty trails as well as some easier ones. For the price you cant beat it. There is a message board at the parking lot near the bathrooms that has the trail maps as well as their experience levels. As long as you stay on the easy trails you should be fine. I suggest a good pair of riding boots and helmet that breathes well. I didnt start riding with boots until this year and wont ride without em now. A helmet that breathes well is a must this time of year.

Anyways, I personally like Brown alot, Its one of the places I ride most.

Make sure you have plenty of fluids. The sun really pulls the water out of ya.

Have Fun! Maybe I'll see ya there.

Thanks for the reply. After I get a little ride time under my belt, I may try to get a gang of friends to ride up there. It would be something different from URE, and not too far of a ride

Alright man! I look forward to hearing from ya when ya wanna go. Let me know and I may be able to make it up there with ya.

Let me know when you go, I'd like to ride with someone up there. I used to go all the time. Hills like URE but instead of rocks, you'll have roots! Lot's more trails to ride on also.

Ill get a little ride time on flat ground around the house then Im going to try and get a gang together to ride up and probably camp one night. Might get up to URE first since its a bit closer.

Got to get use to the yz450f first..

If anyone is ever up for weekday riding up there lemme know. I've got a Z400 quad that needs to be ridden.

Hope it goes good, Im pretty sure I got a group that will go. Couple quads, and a few bikes. Gonna be a while though. 2 bikes and 1 owner on the recovery list :)

Yea, but just part of riding I reckon. Kinda getting more use to the YZf. And talked to a buddy the other day. They said they use to race the harescrambles up that way and it was a fun place to ride

Yeah I rode Brushy mtn motrsports park this past saturday and as long as weather isnt an issue I will be at brown this saturday. twisted my knee and did something to my chest at brushy. recovering. nothing too bad. gonna ride regardless lol.

Just rode Brown yesterday(Jun18) and trail 9 is very nice. they've been doing maintainece on the lower half and it seems they have finished. Its very nice riding on dirt bike, maybe even atv. Was a great day for riding.
